Gordon Geary takes the helm at Kidlington F. C.

Kidlington Football Club is pleased to announce that former player Gordon Geary will manage their first team next season. Gordon’s will be assisted by Keith Appleton, Paul Harwood & Gary Johnson.

Gordon has a good pedigree and was a respected local player; he gained managerial experience as assistant manager at Abingdon Town in the Ryman’s League and as reserve team manager at Oxford City. Kidlinton F.C. sees him as the ideal person to take the club forward on its continued development into what will be our centenary season 2009-10.

The Club is indebted to the out going managerial team of Paul Lee, Kelvin Alexis and Matt Hayward for the superb work they have done over the last three seasons, where they have cemented the club as a serious contender in the Hellenic Premier Division and brought some long awaited silverware to the club.

All three have stepped down to take up other offers & we wish them the very best.

Also leaving the club at his juncture are our reserve management team of Steve McMahon, Mick Hickey and Joe Hughes, again the club thank them for their service over the last 3 seasons and of course wish them well for their future ventures.

The Club will now move in a new direction with Geary at the helm and he will soon appoint a reserve manager to provide continuity throughout the club, this will be the subject of a further release when it has been confirmed.

Our successful U18 youth team will continue to be managed by Mick Trafford, Bob Sherlock and Barry Hiles and our Veterans will be managed by Darren McNamara.

Details of pre-season training arrangements will follow in due course.

Geary stated that he "hoped all of last season’s players would return to the club when training commences, where both old and new will be welcome”.
