| 20-07-2010 Tonight (20th July) Uhlsport Hellenic Premier league side Kidlington FC take on Molten Spartan South Midlands League side Aylesbury United in a pre-season friendly match at Kidlington's Yarnton Road ground, K.O. 7-45pm. Kidlington's 1st run out in a pre-season ended all square, 2 - 2 with Southern League outfit Woodford United last Saturday. Kiddie's goals in this one came from Sam Fincher and new boy Lance Williams. Kidlington Manger Gordon Geary said after the match that"he was very pleased with the application of his players and he learnt a lot about their willingness to keep going and compete". Tonight's visitors are Buckinghamshire side Aylesbury Town who are famed by the media for their 'Duck Walk' goal celebration which was shown around the world, as Aylesbury went on to reach the Third Round Proper of the FA cup in 1994-95. Unfortunately they lost to then Premiership side Queen's Park Rangers at Loftus Road, but the 'Duck Walk' will always be remembered. Next Wednesday (28th July) Kidlington will take Southern League side North Leigh at Yarnton Road, again K.O. 7-45pm. Kildington have had many good games with 'Nor Lye' over the years. Now they are in the Southern League and it will be great to renew old friendships in this friendly match. From a Kidlington perspective, who can forget the fantastic Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final of a couple of years back when North Leigh finally defeated Kiddie in extra time at Court Place Farm to stake their place in the final, they ultimately went on to lift the trophy for the 1st time in their history Both these matches give Kidlington a chance to test their players, new and old against higher league opposition. Everyone at the club is looking forward to what promise to be good entertaining matches. Warren has done a terrific job since taking over the reigns of the Veterans side. In fact last season he led the team to the Hellenic Veterans Premier League title, and then went on to make it a double by winning the Oxfordshire FA Veterans Trophy. Warren had initially stated his intention to step down at the end of last season, but he has been persuaded to carry on. Chairman Lloyd Wray stated "we are all absolutely delighted that Warren has had a change of heart and will lead the Vet's team again this season. Everyone at the club knows Warren and appreciates just how committed a man he is to Kidlington FC and especially veterans football". Regards, Simon Dickens Kidlington Football Club 03-07-2010 Uhlsport Hellenic League side Kidlington have made some changes to the personal managing their Reserve Team in preparation for the coming season. Matt Pike and Keith Mitchell who assisted Manager Barry Hiles will no longer be involved with the Reserves due to other commitments. Therefore Kidlington are delighted to announce that stepping up to become Assistant Manager to Hiles will be last seasons goalkeeping coach Russell Sanders, and Andy Wilson will become Player-Coach. Both Russell and Andy jumped at the chance of this opportunity and are looking forward to the season ahead. It is Hiles' stated intention that his 'new team' will build on last seasons successes in bringing players through ready for first team selection. Regards, Simon Dickens KFC 24-06-2010 Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Kidlington FC are pleased to announce that Andy Sinnott has joined the club as "Head of Development". Sinnott brings with him a wealth of experience in non league football at a higher level. He, like all those involved with Kidlington FC is keen to help the club progress and will be working mainly on "off the pitch" issues. Everyone at the club believes we have a very bright future here at Yarnton Road and Sinnott sees this new role as great opportunity to help take the club forward. His knowledge, contacts & local respect are an extreamly welcome addition to the club as we continue to strive for the highest standard of football possible. Kidlington will begin pre-season training this coming Tuesday 29th June (7pm at the ground in Yarnton Road Kidlington), all old & new players are most welcome. Geary and his team of Keith Appleton, Paul Harwood and Gary Johnson were new to the club this season and have done a tremendous job. They have been instrumental in harnessing a lot of the young talent from within the Village and given them a chance to shine in the 1st team. This season the team have exceeded expectations as they have constantly been in the top half of the Hellenic Premier Division table and had good runs in all the cup competitions. Kidlington Chairman Lloyd Wray said that he was “delighted they have agreed to stay on, they are all Kidlington lads and have been 100% committed to the club. Next season they have big plans and with them defiantly staying we now have a great platform to work from”. Geary said of his re-appointment “I am delighted to be given the chance again to continue building on what we already have here for next season. This is my home town club and we already have ideas and plans for what we would like to do.
